ACCOUNTING MANAGER

ACCOUNTING MANAGER – Small but growing company!

Great opportunity to join a small but growing, privately owned business located in Lakewood. As the top accounting person, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for supervising and managing the accounting department and all areas of financial reporting.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ACCOUNTING MANAGER

  • Prepare financial statements and analysis
  • Manage and supervise accounting department
  • Maintain and oversee all accounting procedures and processes
  • Follow and comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements
  • Record and research all financial information for analysis
  • Assist in preparation of the annual budget and budget reports, and analysis of actual results to budgets
  • Document and interpret financial information for managers,
  • Oversee financial reports for stockholders, taxes, regulatory agencies, and other financial groups relating to company finance
  • Audit Accounting and Finance Departments
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including month and year end process, accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, commissions, etc.
  • Manage employee HR relations including vacation and sick time.

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE ACCOUNTING MANAGER

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business with an emphasis in Accounting, or a related field
  • Previous experience as an accountant, accounting supervisor, or manager
  • Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software (Quick books), Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations
  • Ability to manage employees, while multi-tasking the month end and year end closing process.
