This position will report directly to the VP of Accounting and Finance.

The ideal candidate will be a CPA out of public accounting or with a combination of public accounting and corporate accounting experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ASSISTANT CONTROLLER:

• Supervise and mentor accounting team.
• Assist with monthly and quarterly financial close procedures.
• Prepare internal and external financial statements/reports.
• Review or perform monthly journal entries, including technical accounting entries.
• Investigate G/L fluctuations and variances and provide explanations to management.
• Support revenue and joint interest billing and other oil and gas specific items.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting team.
• Foster a collaborative team environment.
• Work closely with management and staff to meet deadlines and business objectives.
• Other special projects as identified.

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE ASSISTANT CONTROLLER

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting.
• CPA required.
• 4+ years of experience required including some public accounting
• Strong GAAP
• Oil & gas experience required.
• Experience with Bolo and Open Invoice a plus.
• Exceptional knowledge of Excel and MS Office applications.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Highest level of integrity with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Target salary range: $120,000 - $150,000+ DOE. Discretionary Bonus potential, 401K, medical, dental, vision, parking,
