The Accounts Receivable Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization’s accounts receivable function. The A/R Manager supervises the AR staff, improves processes, and partners with internal departments and customers to resolve billing issues and maintain positive relationships.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE MANAGER
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the accounts receivable department
- Supervise, train, and mentor AR staff; assign workloads and monitor performance.
- Ensure timely and accurate billing to customers in accordance with company policies and contractual terms.
- Monitor aging reports and proactively manage collections
- Implement collection processes.
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and customer disputes in coordination with sales, customer service, and operations teams.
- Reconcile accounts receivable subledger to the general ledger and assist with month-end close processes.
- Maintain accurate customer account records and documentation.
- Prepare and present AR reports and metrics to management,
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and internal controls.
- Identify opportunities to improve AR processes, automation, and reporting.
- Support audits by providing documentation and responding to auditor requests.
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS OF THE ACCOUNTS RECEVABLE MANAGER
- Bachelor’s degree in business or experience in lieu of education.
- 5–8 years of progressive accounts receivable or accounting experience, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of accounts receivable processes and collection practices.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, or similar).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Target annual salary: $105,000 – $120,000 DOE. Discretionary bonus potential. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, 401k, PTO and much more!
