CONTROLLER – Remote position, but must reside in Colorado!
The position is remote; however, you must reside in Colorado to attend a few meetings!

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CONTROLLER
- Execute and own all day-to-day accounting operations, performing the full accounting lifecycle from transactional activities (AP, AR, reconciliations) through month-end and year-end close.
- Prepare timely, accurate, and well-supported financial statements and management reports for executive leadership review.
- Understand and appropriately tailor financial reporting and analysis for different audiences
- Build, document, and implement accounting processes and procedures.
- Serve as the primary day-to-day liaison with the outside accounting firm.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations, internal policies, and GAAP, and maintain appropriate internal controls and audit-ready documentation.
- Oversee and perform reconciliations for all bank accounts, investment reports, credit cards, and online banking portals.
- Administer and support the company’s financial systems infrastructure
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS OF THE CONTROLLER
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, advanced degree a plus
- CPA designation is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in roles with increasing responsibility.
- Public accounting experience (tax, audit, and/or accounting services) and experience supporting privately held organizations, including manager-managed LLCs or similar ownership and governance structures, highly preferred.
- Strong accounting and compliance expertise, including GAAP, tax and regulatory requirements, with experience establishing scalable accounting policies and well-documented processes.
- Advanced technical and analytical skills, including hands-on ERP experience (NetSuite preferred), advanced Excel proficiency, and the ability to manage complex accounting projects with accuracy and sound judgment.
- Highly organized, adaptable professional with excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, discretion with confidential information, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Target Salary Range: $130,000 – $160,000 DOE. Plus a very competitive benefits package!
