CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER / CFO

A diversified, privately-owned, Denver-based real estate company is seeking a CFO to join their organization and help them continue their mission. The position will work directly with the Company’s executive management team.
We are looking for a strong cultural fit as a leader, mentor and trusted advisor. Selected candidate will be outgoing, friendly, and professional with very well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
Although we are seeking a strategic leader, we are also seeking someone with an entrepreneurial spirit who is willing to wear a lot of hats. Selected candidate will manage a small but talented staff.
We are seeking a CPA with a combination of public accounting and industry experience. A Master’s in Accounting or an MBA is preferred. Real estate is preferred, but not required.
Selected candidate must have a stable job record, progressing to a leadership role that includes managing and executing debt relationships.

CFO JOB SUMMARY:
The CFO will serve as the company’s chief finance, accounting and administration officer and will be responsible for accounting, systems, banking, treasury, insurance, financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and tax.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CFO:
- Oversees and directs the accounting and finance functions for the company
- Establishes and maintains relationships with lending institutions
- Work cross-functionally with all department heads
- Review of financial statements for various entities
- Manages the budgeting, outside accounting, tax, and insurance activities for the organization
- Provides and directs procedures necessary to maintain proper records and to afford adequate accounting controls and services
- Appraises the organization's financial position and attends operations and asset review meetings
- Evaluates business partnering opportunities, including purchase and sale activities
- Other special duties as assigned
Job Requirements
REQUIREMENTS OF THE CFO:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, Masters in Accounting or MBA preferred
- CPA
- 15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including both public accounting and industry experience
- Real estate experience a plus, but not required
- Excellent knowledge of accounting methods, principles, and practices
- Extensive treasury, cash management, and financing experience
- Outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships internally and externally
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to deal effectively with all levels in the organization
- Possesses the highest levels of integrity, ethics, and judgment
- Team player and great mentor
Target salary range: $200,000 - $225,000 DOE. Discretionary bonus potential. Excellent Insurance, 401K, generous PTO, and more!
