Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
CFO - Hybrid – Great Salary and Bonus! Real Estate and/or Investment Accounting experience required.
Great opportunity to provide strategic financial leadership and drive operational excellence to a very successful real estate investment and capital market assets company.
Experience with all facets of accounting, finance, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, risk management, and investments is required,
Real estate accounting and finance experience is highly preferred (including loan agreements, construction liens, development projects, limited and general partnership operating agreements, investments, due diligence, etc.). Experience with Capita Market Assets is also essential.
Some tax experience required, particularly partnership tax and tax planning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the CFO
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and modeling for informed decision-making.
- Manage financial operations, including accounting, treasury, tax, and audit, legal, insurance and IT ensuring compliance and strong controls.
- Develop and execute a financial strategy, advising executives on financial performance, risks, and opportunities
- Lead financial system migrations and integrations, drive efficiency and ensure internal controls
- Ensure accurate reporting, audits, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and implement real estate tax strategies.
- Analyze budget vs. actual variances.
- Financial reporting that ensures regulatory compliance.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks
- Lead due diligence efforts for new acquisitions and investments.
- Maintain relationships with outside parties
- Attract, mentor, and lead the finance, accounting, and tax team.
Job Requirements
The Requirements for this CFO Position include:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting; Master's Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant required.
- Polished business professional can bring strategic vision but also train and mentor staff.
- 15+ years of experience is required with at least 7 years in a management role.
- Experience with Real Estate investments and/or capital markets.
- Some tax experience is required, particularly partnership tax and tax planning strategies.
- A combination of public accounting and industry experience is preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of financial principles, accounting standards (GAAP), and regulatory requirements.
- A strategic thinker with strong leadership and mentoring experience.
- Experience working with and/or managing other functions such as Legal and IT.
- General knowledge of investment accounting, equities, hedge funds, and private equity investments.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Excellent computer skills, accounting systems conversions experience a plus.
- Highest level of honesty and integrity
