CONTROLLER – High Growth – Lots of Upside!

This is an awesome opportunity to join a successful and growing oil & gas company in Denver. We will consider someone straight out of public accounting with oil & gas clients or someone with a combination of public accounting and industry that has had energy experience.

We are seeking a CPA with 8 to 12 years of experience and a strong and stable track record, excellent management and leadership skills and at least 4 years of experience in the oil & gas industry.

You will partner with the executives and serve as an expert advisor to help achieve success within the company. As the Controller you will oversee accounting, financial statements, analysis, and reporting functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CONTROLLER

  • Direct the accounting and financial reporting activities.
  • Design and maintain internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets.
  • Prepare and review financial statements.
  • Ensure internal and external reporting requirements are met.
  • Financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Assist in identifying operational and financial improvement opportunities
  • Supervise, mentor and motivate a team.
  • Assist in M&A activities.
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE CONTROLLER

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required. Advanced degree preferred.
  • CPA a must.
  • 8-12 years of public accounting or a combination of public accounting and industry experience.
  • At least 4 years of experience in the oil & gas industry.
  • Strong GAAP, SOX and SEC reporting experience.
  • Outstanding management, people and leadership skills.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong and stable track record.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
