CONTROLLER

CONTROLLER / DIRECTOR OF FINANCE – Report Directly to the President!

We are seeking an experienced controller / finance director to oversee all financial aspects of  the business and drive the company’s financial strategy and planning. This position will be accountable for leading and coaching a small accounting and finance team. Selected candidate will manage the organization’s financial and accounting policies, systems and processes, tax and regulatory requirements, as well as produce and maintain the annual budget.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CONTROLLER / DIRECTOR OF FINANCE

  • Oversee all accounting operations, including AP/AR, billing, general ledger, cash management, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reconciliations, financial statements, and compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the preparation and coordination of annual audits and external reporting.
  • Develop and maintain financial systems, processes, and internal controls to ensure data integrity.
  • Manage financial forecasting, pro forma modeling, and accounting research.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, auditors, and Independent Contractors.
  • Present consolidated financial reports to the President and executive leadership.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE CONTROLLER / DIRECTOR OF FINANCE

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting, advanced degree a plus
  • CPA preferred
  • 10+ years of accounting and finance experience
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Transportation or logistics experience preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to exercise sound business and financial judgement
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Strong creative skills and ability to pivot with change
  • Excellent people management and development skills

Target salary range: $140,000 – $185,000 DOE. Discretionary bonus potential. Benefits include PTO, health and other insurance and more!
