CONTROLLER - Fast-growing, well-funded, profitable, early stage company.

 

We are seeking a hands on Controller to join our small but dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be innovative and constantly seeking to learn, improve processes, and passionate about leveraging accounting to drive business strategy. You will play a pivotal role in leading operations alongside the COO.

 

CPA or MBA a plus. Some public accounting, investment banking or high growth industry role preferred.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CONTROLLER

  • Lead initiatives to enhance customer and team experiences.
  • Oversee day-to-day financial and accounting operations.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records and reports.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Operating Officer to develop and monitor departmental budgets
  • Manage legal documents and agreements.
  • Liaise with legal counsel and external accountants.
  • Assist in HR functions.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures.
  • Develop and generate financial and management reports for executive leadership.
  • Provide insightful analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance reporting processes and efficiency.
  • Work closely with department heads to address financial, HR, and other business needs.
  • Promote a culture of compliance and accountability across the organization.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and ensure optimal contract terms are maintained.
  • Collaborate with logistics and procurement teams.
  • Review vendor agreements for legal and financial compliance.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE CONTROLLER

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • CPA or MBA a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in finance and accounting, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Some public accounting, investment banking or high growth industry role preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting, office management, legal compliance, and HR best practices.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Highly collaborative, open, and transparent.

 

 

Target salary range: $140,000 – $ 160,000 DOE. Insurance, PTO, retirement and more!
