CONTROLLER - Top Accounting and Finance Role! Be part of a Great Leadership Team!

Are you a strategic and yet a hands-on leader that is ready to take ownership of the top accounting and finance role at a privately-owned, growing company? The company is located in the north metro area.

We are seeking a Controller to lead all accounting and financial operations for a privately owned, asset-intensive services business. This is a pivotal leadership role reporting directly to the CEO and overseeing a small but effective accounting team.

You’ll be responsible for financial reporting, internal controls, forecasting, job costing, and operational support across the organization. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-moving environment, and brings strong GAAP and leadership experience to the table.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CONTROLLER

• Lead all accounting operations (GL, A/P, A/R, payroll, job costing)
• Produce timely, accurate financial statements and reports
• Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting policies
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Support field operations with financial insight and margin analysis
• Collaborate closely with leadership to drive business performance
• Develop and monitor performance metrics
• Coordinate external audits, tax planning and ensure regulatory compliance
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE CONTROLLER

• Bachelor’s in Accounting
• CPA a plus
• 8+ years of accounting/finance experience, with 3+ in a leadership role
• Experience in project-based or asset-intensive industries is a plus
• Strong GAAP knowledge and systems proficiency
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Strong business acumen and a hands-on approach
• Hire, train and mentor accounting staff
• Team Player

Target salary range: $140,000 – $160,000 DOE. Discretionary bonus potential. Benefits include PTO, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance and more!
