CONTROLLER - Top Compensation and lots of growth potential!

We are seeking an exceptional Controller candidate who will work closely with the CFO to oversee and manage all accounting related activities.

The company is experiencing rapid and continued growth and will reward the selected candidate with a top compensation package!

We are seeking a CPA ideally with a combination of public accounting and industry experience. However, we will consider a CPA with only public accounting or industry experience. Selected candidate MUST have property and casualty insurance experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CONTROLLER

  • Assume a leadership role leader and/or technical expert in areas of responsibilities and ensure requirements are understood and met by internal and external resources.
  • Provide leadership and expertise for Company’s Accounting team.
  • Create and establish monthly reconciliation processes to improve reporting and cash flow analysis.
  • Provide detailed analyses and reconciliations on a monthly/quarterly/year-end basis to ensure all information is accurately stated.
  • Document key financial and business policies, procedures and controls and continue to ensure the documentation of processes and procedures are current, compliant and accurate.
  • Provide ongoing, ad-hoc analysis for the CFO and executive staff.
  • Assume additional responsibilities from the CFO as Controller becomes more knowledgeable of the business.

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE CONTROLLER

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, advanced degree preferred
  • CPA highly preferred
  • At least 8 years of corporate accounting and/or public accounting experience
  • P&C Insurance industry experience and statutory reporting experience required
  • Ability to lead, coach, and motivate others
  • Highly skilled in use of Excel
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with all aspects of internal and external audit procedures
  • Experience with QuickBooks preferred
  • Self-starter, organized, analytical, problem solver
