RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE MANAGER OF TECHNICAL ACCOUNTING
- Conduct research on complex accounting issues, ensuring accurate application of authoritative guidance and drafting technical memos. Collaborate with management and external auditors to reach definitive conclusions.
- Evaluate new accounting standards, assess their impact on financial statements, and collaborate across departments to align processes, procedures, and controls.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Finance, Operations, Internal Audit, IT, and Regulatory teams.
- Provide solutions for unusual accounting matters and perform assessments on complex areas like impairment, fair value, derivatives, consolidation, revenue recognition, leases, and acquisitions.
- Review financial statements for multiple entities, ensuring GAAP compliance and SEC disclosure requirements.
- Work proactively with external auditors to resolve technical accounting matters efficiently.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS OF THE MANAGER OF TECHNICAL ACCOUNTING
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Master’s degree preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant.
- 8+ years of public accounting (Big 4, National or Large Regional firm) or a combination of public accounting and industry.
- Advanced knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting including complex accounting issues.
- Excellent computer and business process skills.
- Proven skills in research and technical writing.
- Efficient organization and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and customer service orientation.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Great team player
Target Salary Range: $125,000 - $165,000 DOE. Benefits include bonus potential, generous PTO, health, vision, dental, and life insurance, 401k, and many more!
