The Senior Corporate Tax is responsible for the preparation and/or review of federal and state consolidated corporate and partnership tax returns and for corporate tax. Continually monitors and researches changing tax laws. Conducts tax analysis to determine financial tax implications of the business, identifies options, and makes recommendations.

Responsibilities of the Senior Corporate Tax Accountant:

  • Prepare/review federal and state consolidated corporate and partnership income tax returns.
  • Prepare/review federal and state estimated payments.
  • Works proactively to perform high level analysis and problem solving where the analysis requires a holistic examination of concrete and intangible factors and their potential impact to the business.
  • Research various federal and state compliance issues, analyzes trends, and studies outcomes of various business options based on changing tax laws.
  • Carry out additional duties/projects as assigned.

Technical Skills and Qualifications of the Senior Corporate Tax Accountant:

  • Comprehensive Accounting knowledge.
  • Must be detail oriented and highly analytical.
  • Ability to understand and use various tax materials, forms and instructions.
  • Ability to comprehend and utilize complex procedures without guidance.
  • Displays proactive, critical thinking with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Excellent research and problem solving skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in pubic accounting or industry corporate tax.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
  • Master’s degree in Taxation preferred.
