VP Controller
VP CONTROLLER- Lots of growth and upside potential for the selected candidate!
Successful, growing and diversified Denver-based organization is seeking to add a dynamic, approachable, VP Controller to lead and direct their talented accounting and finance team!
The selected candidate will be team-oriented and have demonstrated people management and leadership skills. This individual must be able to foster an environment for success by modeling a culture of involvement that includes encouraging, mentoring, supporting, and rewarding others.
The ideal candidate will be a CPA with a combination of public accounting (Big 4 or National Firm) and industry experience. We will also consider an MBA with a combination of Venture Capital or Investment Banking experience that has since transitioned to a Director level of Accounting and Finance role in industry.
Responsibilities of the VP Controller:
- Oversee the accounting and finance functions of the company, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other accounting standards.
- Oversees preparation of balance sheet, profit and loss statements, statement of cash flows and other accounting schedules and reports.
- Assist with treasury functions and risk management on behalf of the company.
- Perform various budgeting, forecasting, internal reporting, business analysis, and other financial analysis.
- Provide critical support in development of the company’s operations and organizational areas.
- Be involved in strategic planning and setting the direction of the organization.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial professionals.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure adequate internal controls.
- Special projects and additional duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Requirements of the VP Controller:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting
- CPA highly preferred, MBA a plus
- 10-15 years combination of public accounting (Big 4 or National Firm) and progressive industry accounting experience
- Will also consider someone with a combination of Venture Capital or Investment Banking experience that has since transitioned to a Director level of Accounting and Finance role in industry
- Proven knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
- Experience managing accounting and finance teams
- Demonstrated capacity for effective decision-making and business analysis
- Ability to take initiative and work independently as well as with a team
- Detail oriented but yet a strategic thinker with the ability to translate strategies into operational objectives
- Excellent computer skills
- Highest level of honesty and integrity
- Outgoing, friendly, and professional with well-developed interpersonal, leadership and communication skills
Target salary range: $190,000 – $230, 000 DOE. Discretionary bonus potential. Comprehensive benefit package includes such things as 401K, PTO, medical, dental, vision and much more!
