            <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Tax Manager - Newly Created Position â Remote but MUST live in the Denver or surrounding areas (Boulder, Colorado Springs, Fort Collins, etc.)</strong></p>  <p>Privately owned, Denver based oil and gas company seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead and develop its internal tax function. This is a newly created position resulting from the Companyâs decision to transition most of its tax work from an outsourced model to an internally managed function.</p>  <p>This is a hands-on role that includes a significant number of partnerships, S corporations, and individuals. The company has both operated and non-operated oil and gas holdings across multiple states.</p>  <p>The successful candidate will combine strong technical tax expertise with the ability to work independently, develop effective processes, and serve as the Companyâs primary internal tax resource.</p>  <p><strong>RESPONSIBILIES OF THE TAX MANAGER</strong></p>  <p><strong>Transition to an Internal Tax Function</strong></p>  <ul>  <li>Lead the transition of tax responsibilities from the Companyâs outside tax providers to an internally managed tax function.</li>  <li>Develop tax processes, procedures, controls, documentation, and compliance calendars.</li>  <li>Become the Companyâs primary internal resource for federal, state, and local income tax matters.</li>  </ul>  <p><strong>Partnership, S Corporation, Individual & Multi-State Taxation</strong></p>  <ul>  <li>Manage federal and multi-state tax compliance for the Company and its related entities.</li>  <li>Preparation and review of federal and state tax returns, extensions, estimated payments, and related filings.</li>  <li>Monitor changes in federal and state tax laws and evaluate their impact on the Company and its owners.</li>  </ul>  <p><strong>Oil & Gas Taxation</strong></p>  <ul>  <li>Ensure appropriate tax treatment of oil and gas revenues, expenses, acquisitions, dispositions, and capital expenditures.</li>  <li>Address industry-specific tax matters including intangible drilling costs, depletion, depreciation, leasehold costs, and other oil and gas tax considerations.</li>  </ul>  <p><strong>Tax Planning & Strategy</strong></p>  <ul>  <li>Identify tax planning opportunities and recommend strategies to improve tax efficiency.</li>  <li>Assist management and ownership with tax planning involving pass-through entities.</li>  <li>Research and provide guidance regarding technical tax issues affecting the Company.</li>  </ul>  <p><strong>Tax Accounting, Compliance & Reporting</strong></p>  <ul>  <li>Work closely with accounting and reconcile tax accounts and analyze book-to-tax differences.</li>  <li>Develop schedules and supporting documentation required for tax compliance and planning.</li>  <li>Manage federal and state tax notices, examinations, inquiries, and information requests.</li>  <li>Maintain appropriate documentation supporting the Companyâs tax positions.</li>  </ul>]]></description>
